Art for travel

“What’s it called?” enquired my husband, “you have to name this piece for the exhibition!”

This artwork took a long time to name, it’s not that I didn’t want to give it a name, it’s just every time I look at it I get lost. Not a lonely lost, more of a heavenly, content ‘backpacking around the world’ lost. One minute I’m at the golden temples of Chang Mai, next I’m viewing aboriginal art, then I’m jumping back to Asia into the Vietnamese jungle. Time moves, I move with it, it has no control over my travels, I am free. I can see the tracks of past travelers, or maybe tracks of my past travels. It doesn’t matter which one, nothing matters just feel the air on your skin at this moment and be.

The colour psychology

The dominant colour of this artwork is mauve. If you like mauve you may be an idealistic thinker and have a fascination with things that are spiritual and mystical. Self-expression is important to you but you don’t focus on being popular or achieving a high social status (maybe you already have it!).  You are a compassionate person, although sometimes you suppress your feelings.

In contrast to this, gold is the colour of wealth and luxury, dots of confident red give power and ever-evolving strength, while calming turquoise dances on the surface balancing emotions, bring mental clarity, and encouraging creativity.

Exhibiton: Nyíregyháza City Library (October 2021)
